wings-challenge_postcard THE STORY Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) face many challenges that often feel impossible, and are very difficult to overcome. The right support is critical to their healing, but all too often, survivors enter this journey alone. WINGS invites you to stand with us in supporting adult survivors and begin creating a culture that honors their voices and experiences by sharing your own. WINGS Challenge invites you, your family, your business, place of worship, or community organization to choose a personal challenge that feels impossible, and work to overcome that challenge in support of the 60 million survivors in the U.S. addressing their own CSA-related struggles, in order to heal and live their fullest, healthiest lives. Some challenges faced and conquered include:

  • completed first solo camping trip
  • first climb/hike up a 14er
  • four 14ers!
  • homecooked family meals by a busy, working parent

A question to ask yourself to discover your impossible: What is something I’ve thought about doing that might improve my life, but I told myself ____________ (I don’t have time; I’ll get to it tomorrow; It wouldn’t help me that much anyway, I will fail, I will be judged) NOTE: Survivors regularly battle these types of thoughts in order to heal and thrive. When they commit to healing, they see real transformation in their lives. Where will the funds go? Your WINGS Challenge fundraiser will help WINGS:

  • Fund more support groups for adult survivors (each group costs appx. $2,000/year),
  • Provide more training and educational opportunities for survivors, loved ones, providers, and communities; and
  • Expand our services to a national audience-reaching the 60 million survivors in the U.S. in need of these services.

Most importantly, you will: Be a voice for adult survivors, while helping create a world that:

  • talks about childhood sexual abuse,
  • stands beside all those needing and trying to heal from it, and
  • provides services to ensure all people live their fullest, healthiest lives
