Most states have laws requiring mandatory reporting by teachers, doctors, therapists, and other professions for known or suspected child abuse or neglect. As a private citizen, you are not required to report child abuse. However, if you have information that a child is being abused or neglected, WINGS Foundation strongly encourages you to file a report. To make a report, contact the local police department in the county or city where the potential abuse is occurring. Provide as much identifying information about the victim and perpetrator as possible. You may ask to remain anonymous. If you would like assistance finding the appropriate place to make the report, contact the WINGS office or your local police department.
